Previous Symposia

The 1st AIDEA Symposium took place at the University of Salzburg, Austria. Information about AIDEA 2025 and the conference proceedings can be found on the conference website.

Scientific context of the symposium

The symposium originated from the collaboration of three AI and data science education research and development projects: ProDaBi, CAMMP, and KI macht Schule. It served to connect these projects with international experts and comparable initiatives, and to explore opportunities for future international collaborations.

In the ProDaBi project (www.prodabi.de), an interdisciplinary team of statistics and computer science education researchers developed approaches, teaching concepts, and comprehensive learning materials for students from grade 6 (age 11) to grade 12/13 (age 18) to make data science and AI methods accessible and usable for school students.

Within CAMMP (www.cammp.online), we designed and investigated concepts and learning materials on AI for high school students from a computational mathematical modeling perspective. The focus was on exploring the mathematical foundations of different AI methods.

KI macht Schule (AI in school, ki-macht-schule.de) is a non-profit organization that has promoted AI education from an interdisciplinary perspective, combining technical, application-oriented, and ethical aspects.
